*Trigger Warning*

Internal Diary explores the memories, emotions and fragility of abuse survivors. Created by installing a smashed then repaired ceramic of a woman looking down into an altered book. and using wire, wool, book pages and glue for the spiraling of a dark thought cloud. Ellen Hopkins' verse poetry from Smoke is used to express thoughts and feelings of abuse survivors. This piece helped express some of my own personal traumas. I want to help raise awareness, shedding light on the aftermath forced upon individuals who already had to survive a traumatic experience. Opening more conversations on mental health and recovery.

Accessibility Description:

A broken, reassembled and wired ceramic sculpture of a woman’s head and bust coming out of a book. Coming out of the head is an upward spiraling dark thought cloud made of wool with stained book pages containing verse poetry.
